This 44 slide bundle of three PowerPoint resources is designed to explore the 2025 ESA GCSE Pearson theme of ‘Gathering’ offering tailored support for students working in General Art & Design, Photography, and Textile Design. Each PowerPoint is unique to its discipline but follows a cohesive structure to guide both students and teachers seamlessly through the project. Beginning with an Introduction to the ESA and the specific branch of study, each presentation includes a thoughtful starter activity to engage the class and set the tone. The core of each PowerPoint focuses on in-depth artist research, featuring at least five carefully selected artists/designers relevant to the theme. Each artist is presented with insightful class prompts to foster discussion and inspire creativity. The presentation concludes with a task or mind map structure, providing students with a clear direction for starting their projects. While the bundle is aligned with the GCSE Pearson specification, it is highly versatile and can be easily adapted to suit individual needs or alternative curriculum requirements. If completed thoroughly, the worksheet should take around 15-20 minutes. It’s an excellent activity for a plenary or starter to encourage student reflection. Students will learn about gathering through practical examples and examine the work of five influential designers: Issey Miyake, Viktor & Rolf, Christian Dior, Iris van Herpen, and Alexander McQueen.
