This 44 slide bundle of three PowerPoint resources is designed to explore the 2025 ESA GCSE Pearson theme of ‘Gathering’ offering tailored support for students working in General Art & Design, Photography, and Textile Design. Each PowerPoint is unique to its discipline but follows a cohesive structure to guide both students and teachers seamlessly through the project. Beginning with an Introduction to the ESA and the specific branch of study, each presentation includes a thoughtful starter activity to engage the class and set the tone.
The core of each PowerPoint focuses on in-depth artist research, featuring at least five carefully selected artists/designers relevant to the theme. Each artist is presented with insightful class prompts to foster discussion and inspire creativity. The presentation concludes with a task or mind map structure, providing students with a clear direction for starting their projects. While the bundle is aligned with the GCSE Pearson specification, it is highly versatile and can be easily adapted to suit individual needs or alternative curriculum requirements.

This A4 textiles evaluation worksheet is designed to encourage students to reflect on their learning at the end of a unit or term. The worksheet includes 7 different prompt boxes that ask insightful questions, such as:
**What skills have you improved in textiles this term?
What lesson have you most enjoyed and why?
If completed thoroughly, the worksheet should take around 15-20 minutes. It’s an excellent activity for a plenary or starter to encourage student reflection.

This 14 slide presentation introduces the technique of ‘Gathering’ (ESA theme 2025) in textile design, exploring its origins, key methods, and its role in fashion and textile art. Students will learn about gathering through practical examples and examine the work of five influential designers: Issey Miyake, Viktor & Rolf, Christian Dior, Iris van Herpen, and Alexander McQueen. The session also covers how to create an **effective mood board, incorporating textile samples, design concepts, and visual inspiration. **
The lesson concludes with a task where students will either create a textile sample or design a mood board, reflecting on how gathering can be applied to their own creative work within the context of the Art & Design GCSE specification. This is specific to the Pearson Edexcel requirements but can be adapted for your own needs as it is an editable PPT.
